Music Video Projects:
‘Kadınlar Vardır’ Music Video:
Date: November 25th, 2021
Details: To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Rengin Women’s produced a powerful music video for the song “Kadınlar Vardır.” The project involved all stages of preparation and filming by our choir members, highlighting their talent and commitment to raising awareness about women’s rights. The video was well-received and showcased the choir’s ability to address important social issues through music.
‘Ah Mahsa’ Music Video:
Date: 2022
Details: In response to ongoing issues affecting women globally, we produced the “Ah Mahsa” music video. This project further emphasized our commitment to using music as a tool for social change and advocacy.
‘Dünyayı Ben Oynatırım’ Music Video:
Date: November 25th, 2023
Details: On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in 2023, we released another impactful music video titled “Dünyayı Ben Oynatırım.” This video focused on the strength and resilience of women, aiming to inspire and empower.
Workshops and Competitions:
Creative Writing Workshop:
Objective: To provide women with the opportunity to express their inner worlds and experiences through writing.
Details: The creative writing workshop allows participants to develop their writing skills and share their stories. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by women, particularly immigrants, and to empower them by giving them a voice.
Social Media Workshop:
Objective: To help women manage technological changes and meet their daily communication needs.
Details: Recognizing that some women in our group were distant from technological developments, we organized a social media workshop. This workshop helps participants navigate social media platforms effectively, enhancing their ability to communicate and stay connected.
Story Competition and Book Publication:
Date: April 30th, 2023
Details: Rengin Women’s Choir organized a story competition for immigrant women, with the winning stories published in a book. This competition provided a platform for women to share their unique experiences and perspectives through storytelling.
Second Story Competition:
Date: July 2024
Details: Following the success of our first story competition, we launched a second competition to continue encouraging women to share their stories. This competition aims to build on the momentum and success of the first, further empowering women through creative expression.
Community Outreach:
Earthquake Relief Efforts:
Date: February 2023
Details: In response to the devastating earthquakes in Turkey, Rengin Women’s Choir organised street performances to raise funds for the victims. Choir members performed in various locations across London, collecting donations and raising awareness about the earthquake’s impact. This initiative demonstrated the choir’s commitment to supporting those in need and using music as a tool for social change.
Annual Concerts:
2021 Concert:
Date: July 4th, 2021
Location: Milfield Theatre
Details: Our first concert marked a significant milestone for Rengin Women’s Choir. The event was held in two sessions due to high demand and received enthusiastic applause from the audience. This concert showcased the choir’s talent and dedication, setting the stage for future performances.
2022 Concert:
Collaboration with İlkay Akkaya:
Date: June 18th, 2022
Details: We were thrilled to collaborate with renowned artist İlkay Akkaya for our summer concert. This partnership brought a unique and powerful musical experience to our audience.
2023 Earthquake Solidarity Concert:
Date: June 24th, 2023
Location: Alexandra Palace
Details: In a concert dedicated to earthquake relief efforts, we performed at Alexandra Palace to raise awareness and funds for the victims. This event highlighted our commitment to using music for social good.
International Women’s Day Concert:
Date: March 10th, 2024
Details: To celebrate International Women’s Day, we performed a special concert with 100 women on stage, showcasing the power and unity of women through music. The event was a powerful demonstration of solidarity and resilience.
Other Activities;
Rengin Women is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community and empowerment among women. To support women in socializing, breaking isolation, developing new skills, and enhancing their self-confidence and self-esteem, we offer a wide array of enriching activities. Our socializing sessions provide a welcoming space for women to connect and build meaningful friendships. Through our parenting clubs, mothers can share experiences, gain valuable insights, and support each other in their parenting journeys.
Our dynamic sports activities encourage physical well-being and teamwork, while our vibrant dance classes offer a joyful outlet for self-expression and fitness. For those inclined towards music, our musical instrument lessons open up new avenues for creativity and personal growth. Each of these activities is carefully designed to not only entertain but also to educate and empower women, helping them to unlock their full potential and thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Through these diverse programs, Rengin Women creates opportunities for women to come together, learn, and grow, ultimately fostering a community where every woman feels valued, confident, and inspired.
